Crack the Plains Peanut Festival this Saturday, Sept. 22th

The annual Plains Peanut Festival celebrates the two most famous things from Sumter County: Peanuts and the Carter Family.


The event includes everything from a fun run and 5k road race to vendors, a post card contest, a parade, a train ride, and even a dance. The theme for the dance this year is, “Good Vibrations.”







A full schedule with event locations can be found below. The events resume the next day with a Sunday School lesson from President Carter at Maranatha Baptist Church.
